Manaslu Trek
   

The name Manaslu means “The spirit-mountain” in the local deity, which dwells within and trekking in Manaslu is one of the delightful adventures tours in Nepal. Mount Manaslu is located in the east of Annapurna Himalaya range and trekking in Manaslu is a controlled one. Mount Manaslu [8163M] is the eight highest peaks in the world, was officially opened to tourists in 1991, but mountaineering expedition have longhand access to the area. Manaslu trekking is most challenging and untouched trekking trail in western part of Nepal. Manaslu trekking is a well-loved trekking trail having pristine views of mountains, combination of rich cultural heritage, genuine adventure, spectacular beauty and biological diversity. Manaslu base camp trekking provides unsurpassed beauty along with the border of Nepal and Tibet ans is now controlled trekking route, allowing organized trekking groups special permit is required thought the government registered trekking company to enter the Manaslu trekking region to venture round its spectacular circuit. Manaslu trekking area is one of the finest tourist destinations in Nepal, as one can enjoy its panoramic views of the majestic Himalayas stretched across the area, in between the route consists of cultural diversities and natural scenery with high altitude amazing glacier lakes and fascinating flora and fauna, these all the features have made the route as one of the well liked region and the finest tourist destination of Nepal for many years. Trekking around Manaslu offers a unique opportunity to experience a reasonably “untouched” region of Nepal. Manaslu region is spectacular and culturally fascinating. Until today the Japanese most frequently visits this region and the number of Japanese have yet made summit to this Himalaya. For this it is also known as the “Japanese Mountain”.

The trekking around Manaslu begins from Gorkha along with Larke pass [5420m] after passing the pass; we continue our trekking to the Annapurna trails to Besisahar then drive back to Kathmandu. The views of Mount Manaslu and other neighboring peaks are spectacular from Larkya La pass. Much of this trek is in a region of strong Tibetan influence. Buddhist prayer flags and chortens are abundant in the region.

Manaslu Trekking Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu 1334m, Peak Promotion’s representative will transfer you to hotel. Overnight at Kathmandu.

Day 2: After breakfast, our professional tour guide will take you for the historical monuments sightseeing around kathmandu valley like: Pasupatinath, Boudhanath, Kathmandu  Durbar square, Swaymbhunath and Patan. Manaslu Trekking briefing by the representative of Peak Promotion. Overnight at Kathmandu.

Day 3: Drive to Arughat (640m) – 5 hours.
You will drive along the Kathmandu-Pokhara High way for the first part then you will drive many villages and terraces to Arughat. Overnight at tented camp.

Day 4:  Trek to Soti khola (775m) –6 hours.
You trek over a flat leveled path along the bank of Budhi Gandaki river via many terraces, numerous villages, green hills and the trekking trail is almost surrounded by green forest. After having lunch at Arkhat bazaar, which lies mid way to Soti khola, we ascend slowly toward Kyoropani. Camp today nears the confluence of Soti River - an ideal place to take a fresh water bath. Soti khola is a village at the bank of the Budhi Gandaki. Overnight at Tented Camp.

Day 5:  Trek to Machha Khola (900m)  -5.30 hours.
The trail descends slowly until you climb again to mountain ridge to Almara. The zigzag path passes via forest, villages, streams, pretty waterfalls and green valley until you reach Lapu Besi.  You can see the village covered by Mongolian inhabitants. Pass the forest trail to arrive at Riden Gaon. The valley here cuts into another side of the river to enter Budhi Gandaki. At Camp tonight at Machha River. Overnight at Tented Camp.

Day 6: Trek to Jagat (1340m) – 6 hours.
After crossing Machha River and Khrola besi, there is a hot spring called "Tatopani". The trail follows forested area after this toward Dovan. Below Dovan, there is a huge rapid at Budhi Gandaki. The trail is quiet exposed and challenging in places. As the elevation increases, the rapids and the scenery undergoes a complete transformation. At Lauri, you cross the river on a suspension bridge, and then climb on a high path to the fields of Jagat. At Jagat, there is a police check-post where your trekking permit will be checked. Overnight at tented camp.

Day 7: Trek to Ngyak (2310m) – 6 hours.
The early part of trek moves gently uphill and then somewhere through a flat-leveled path. After ascending to a terraced hill of Saguleri and view of Sringi Himal (7177 m) we continue toward Sirish Gaon, Gandaki valley narrows from herewith soaring precipitous walls. Overnight at Tented Camp

Day 8: Trek to Ghap (2100m) -6 hours.
Follow the trail upstream of Deng River - a tiny village of 4 houses. We walk through a newly built rock tunnel from here, thus avoiding the traditional steep climb. At Ghap, the Tibetan culture begins with Mani stones and chortens all around. Overnight at Tented Camp.

Day 9: Trek to Lho (3200m) – 6 hours.
After crossing the wooden bridge over Budhi Gandaki we follow the path lined with houses that are interspersed with cultivated fields. At Namru, there is a police check post again. After Namru, across the Hinan river originating from Linda Glacier and continue on to Sho. Naike peak, Manaslu north (7774m) and Manaslu (8150m) are visible from here. Tonight we camp near a spring at Lho gaon - a small village. Overnight at Tented Camp.

Day 10: Trek to Samagompa (3500m) –6 hours.

You will pass the stone gate and long Mani stonewalls of the village after passing Lho with full view of 29 Peak ahead. You can make a side excursion to Pungen Glacier from here to get a very close up view of Manaslu. Follow the lateral moraine of Pungen Glacier toward Sama. From the village of Sama, it takes another 20 minutes to reach Sama Gompa for night halt. Overnight at Tented Camp.

Day 11: Trek to Stone Hut (4500m) –5 hours.
Today we climb a terraced hill on the opposite bank of Budhi Gandaki river from here toward a most remote permanent settlement - Samdo. Here amid the most sever conditions of nature live some 200 villagers in forty houses check-by-jowl. Camp at Stone Hut. Overnight at Tented Camp.

Day 12: Acclimatization day. Overnight at Tented Camp.

Day 13: Trek to Bhimphedi (3590m) – 8 hours.
We first climb towards Cho Chanda and then slowly head steeply uphill towards the snowed-up pass. You can see the beautiful view of Himlung Himal (7126meter), Cheo Himal (6820meters), Gyagi Kung, Kang Kuru (6981meters) and the Annapurna II (7937meters). The descent is steep, through moraines, towards Bhimphedi. Overnight at Tented Camp.

Day 14: Trek to Tilje (3900m) –5 hours.
After Bhimphedi now the route gets easier. We start with a gentle climb through paddy fields towards the small Karcha La pass and descend through fig tree and rhododendron forests to Tilje. Overnight at Tented Camp.

Day 15: Trek to Tal (1725m) –5 hours.
We follow the trail downstream of Marshyangdi River, passing through the scattered villages to reach Tal village for overnight stay. Overnight at Tented Camp.

Day 16: Trek to Jagat (1300m) –5 hours.

Today the trail runs gently downstream of the river passing the village of Chamje and Himal pani. Eventually, you come across Jagat which is a stone village situated on a shelf, that just into the precipitous Marsayangdi valley. We will have overnight stay at Jagat. Overnight at Tented Camp.

Day 17: Trek to Baundada (1275m) –5 hours.
Ascending gently for 30 minutes and the trail runs gently down to Sanjee village, and then trail goes up for 15 minutes to Gharmuu Phant. From here another 2 hours easy walk and 30 minutes up will take to the village of Bahundanda. Overnight at Tented Camp.

Day 18: Trek to Besisahar.
The trail runs gently downstream of the river passing the village of Naadi. From here the trail takes you to the bank of Marshyngdi River and town of Bhulbhule, Khudi all the way to Besisahar. Overnight at Tented Camp.

Day 19: Drive back to Kathmandu - 7 hours
It is picturesque drive on the way back to Kathmandu along the banks of the Marshyangdi and Trishuli rivers with splendid views of green hills, mountains, farming terraces and colorful villages on both sides of road. Overnight at Hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 20: Leisure day in Kathmandu.

Day 21: Depart to Home.
