Three Peaks Nepal 2011 - Yamnuska High Altitude Adventures

In October and November 2011, legendary Canadian alpinist and mountain guide, Barry Blanchard, will lead an expedition of 8 clients to Nepal. The expedition takes its name from the planned climbing objectives of Gyoki Ri, Lobuche East and Island Peak. This will be Barry's fifth trip to the Himalayas.

The expedition members have a variety of high altitude experience. Some have climbed to over 6,000m and for others, this will be their first exposure to high altitude mountaineering. We are all training with a variety of activities including mountain biking, running, yoga, personal training, rock climbing and alpine climbs in the Canadian Rockies this summer.

Although we all have a variety of motives for joining this expedition, one of the driving reasons for many of us is the opportunity to have Barry guide us in the classic Himalayan mountain range. In addition, we are looking forward to the cultural and spiritual experience offered by Nepal.

We are delighted to be partnering with Peak Promotions Nepal, and we look forward with great anticipation to meeting all of you in mid-October!
