Finally at Everest Base Camp

Today is the big day! EBC is in our grasp but the weather wasn't playing nice – woke up (30 mins late…oops ) to clouds and snow, but we would not be deterred! After a hot tea and breaky, we bundled up and headed out into cold and snow to obtain our main goal of Everest Base Camp!

After approx 2.5 hours, a few potty and gear stops later we reached the Peak Promotions expedition base camp still being constructed (18,192 ft). On the way we passed the "Trekkers Base Camp" (boring…) for which is the end point for most trekkers.

We were able to snap a bunch of photos, put up one of our prayer flags, have a cuppa tea and briefly communicate with a couple of our loved ones.

Then Dendi our trusted porter lead us back down at a "Porter's pace" to Gorak Shep (16,798 ft) for another sub-zero night in the teahouses.
