We left camp early this morning to go to the Lhotse face and it was cold. We had a good experience on the Lhotse face. My glasses came off while I was on the fixed lines and I did not put them back on and I paid the price later. The views from Lhotse were incredible with great line of sight to Cho Oyu looking right over Pumori. Half way to C3 Pemba and I decided that we had accomplish our goal for the day and went back to C2. On the way to our Camp we stopped at the Peak Freaks camp to visit Daniel. He is doing well.
Back in camp my friends Paul and Karen were there setting up their camp close to us, so we exchanged pleasantries. Later in the afternoon my eyes started bothering me, who I thought was dust issues, but were actually snow blindness from taking off my glasses on the Lhotse face. Way too long story short, after consulting the docs at BC, I decided to leave C2 at 6PM to descend to BC. I felt very strong and we got to C1 very quickly. However, descending the icefall in the dark brought back a lot of memories of my adventure racing days. In BC Dr. Eric gave me med that helped right away.
