Today is our rest day at Namche (3440m). Normally, every trekkers have to take one day rest in Namche to acclimatize to almost 4000 m. We are staying at Khumbu Lodge, the first lodge of Namche. Khumbu Lodge has been receiving lots of trekkers and famous people of the world since 1973. Jimmy Carter-the former president of USA, David Le Roth, Richard C. Blum, IMAX Everest Film Director David Breashears and many others have stayed here. Peak Promotion has been using this lodge for a long time.

We hiked to Syangboche and saw the highest airport of the world. The air field is not in use these days but helicopters fly here. Klaus took out his compass and Lennart was ready with his map to compare the accuracy of map. From the map we could easily find out the directions and the names of the many tops we saw.

Then we followed the trail to Everest View Hotel, the highest deluxe hotel of the world. We saw beautiful panoramic view of Mt. Everest, Lhotse and Amadablam. We had very nice hot lemon at Everest View Hotel. The team is renamed today “the Team of three gentlemen and four young guys”. The three gentle men are , Ang Dawa and Tendi and the youngest guy are Klaus, Richard, Lennart and Bjorn.

Khumjung was our next place. We visited there to have apple pie. The apple pie of Everest Bakery House was fantastic. The team already knew about the famous apple pie of Khumjung from Olov Holst. Olov has been to Nepal many times and now organizes treks with Peak Promotion. He is the one who handled all our logistics.
