Today was an exciting day for friends of the HRA. The seven of our group that made it all the way to base camp joined the rest of us in Phakding and we all continue our trek tomorrow to Lukla and then back to Kathmandu Thursday. Even though we didn't all make the final leg to base camp, we celebrate the accomplishments of those who did. We spent several hours listening to their stories and sharing their experiences (and ours). This has been an incredible journey for each of us and we each end our trek with personal memories and collective stories. We have stretched ourselves beyond what we thought we were able. Throughout the trek we had the incredible care and support of Wongchu and his staff of Sherpas - we have become friends with these men who have anticipated our needs before we identified them ourselves - they guided us and gave us the extra support we each needed at different times. We will take with us thousands of photos, memories and friendships that will last a lifetime.
