We had an early start today as we had to cross a long way to Gorepani (2800 m elevation). After having a good breakfast we started our trek at 7:45 am from Tikhedunga. This is one of the toughest trail in the ABC trek as we had to gain approximately 1200 m elevation to reach Gorepani. The trail was very beautiful with the hanging bridges crossing over the waterfalls and streams. Since last night and through out the trail we have been enjoying the soothing sound of the waterfalls and streams. The dense green forests and the cloud covering the mountains presented a picturesque landscape. We have taken lots of pictures but also enjoyed the amazing natural beauty of Himalaya mountains to our heart's content and will cherish it for life time.
It was time to take a break and we stopped at Urelli (2000 m) at 10 am and continued to Banthanti (2300 m) where we stopped for lunch at 12 noon. At this time the temperature had dropped down to 12 degree Celsius and we could feel the chill. For lunch we had the Nepalese Rice plate served with lentil soup, vegetable curry, salad and papad. Every one enjoyed the lunch, had a quick 15 minute rest and started our journey forward. The next stop was at Nagathati at 2 pm. The trek so far was very good but the entire trail was going up and down with lot of steps climbing which added to our fatigue. We also encountered heavy rain for the last one hour which made our last part of the trek difficult. Finally we reached Gorepani at 4 pm and I could see the smile on everyone's face! We checked in to our hotel Kamala guest house (kind of log house) and had a good masala chai while we relaxed around the fire place. We had our dinner at 7 pm and are ready to go to bed as everyone is really tired, but still excited to go to Poon hill to watch the sunrise tomorrow morning at 6 am!
