Here is Karina and Pemba Sherpa from EBC. We just got back from our 2nd climbing rotation and we are all good and happy to be back safe.
We went up directly to C2 on May 1st with the objective of sleeping one night at C3. But as we always climb on the mountain terms this time it wasn’t possible because of the strong winds up at C2 that almost brought out dinner tent down 3x.
So we got to C2 and decided we were going at least to touch C3 for this rotation before heading down and that’s what we did on May 3rd. Because of the weather conditions we were almost the only team on the ropes of the Lhotse Face (what a privilege!)
We got from C2 to C3 in 4h feeling strong and good except for my cough. And now we are down at base camp resting, having some really good food and getting ready for the big day: summit push! Since my birthday is on May 14th and it looks like it will be a good weather window, we hope the ropes are fixed sooner than later so we can celebrate my 31st at the summit.
Hope you like our photos!
