26 April, 2013 - Trek to Chame

Starting out today from 6500’ we passed quickly up to close to 8900’ by the end of the day.  This was our first push day on altitude, which allowed us great views of Manaslu and Annapurna II.  We walked through giant pines and rhododendron on the way to the Himalayan Restaurant.  The area is becoming increasingly Buddhist with more and more prayer flags flying.  Though we haven’t hiked exclusively on the road we have left it behind today at Chame.  Everyone had a great long day ending at the New Tibet Hotel.  Garlic soup for dinner in a great tea room with a wood burning stove in the center.
