Woke up to a sunny morning, after a night's snowfall and the 7000 m plus peaks were glittering in the distance. After breakfast the whole team gathered outside the Tengboche Monastery for a group picture before heading down on the slippery treks through the Rhododendron forest. First stop was at the nuns monastery in Devoche.
Today we met many trekkers from all over the world and had a chance to exchange experience. Much of the conversation concerns food and health and which trekking route we are taking. After 3 hours hike we stopped for lunch at Shomare and met some lovely small children. After lunch we continued slowly uphill until reaching the Pheriche Pass at 4400 m. We are now in yak land above the tree line with a completely different landscape without trees and much more wind. Then we slowly descended to Pheriche at 4200 m where we are staying for two nights. Once we entered the cozy teahouse we were offered hot chocolate by the wood stove.
