We had a great “recovery” day following our 2300 ft training day yesterday.  We trekked from Dingboche to Chhukung today, only a sub two hour trek. At our onset we had a fabulous view of what was ahead of us (Island Peak). We were settled in our rooms and rented our climbing equipment for our summit of Island Peak on Friday. We picked up double boots, ice axes and helmets. We also rigged our harnesses and climbing safety equipment. It was windy, cold and foggy for most of the day with only a few minutes of sun. A couple of the less rugged had the opportunity to shower, while the rest of us remain quite “strong”.

Tomorrow we train in the mountains with our gear and head to Island Peak base camp in the afternoon. Looking forward to our 20,300 ft summit!!
