‘Forever up’ seemed to be the theme today. As we left Tange we took the upper route to Chucksang leaving the river stones behind. A beautiful day with great views of sandstone cliffs and snow capped peaks, including Dauliguri. But the route was long - 18 miles and took the fastest porters 9 ½ hours. We were all very glad to reach camp before dark except for the last four porters that arrived about ½ hour after dark
