27th April, 2011- This is the first day of our trek

	Setting the alarm clock this morning wasn’t really necessary. It turned out I was not the only one having had a night with poor sleep and was already awake. Most members in the group was affected by the time difference and also quite excited about the coming adventure.

Peak Promotion picked us up at 05.15 for transfer to the airport. Already 06.55 we landed at Lukla airport. Never have I my four times in Nepal have I seen such a fast handling at the airport. Thank you Peak Promotion...

Trekking via manistone

	We had a second breakfast at a lodge in Lukla before starting the trek. The first day is a quite easy trek of 3-4 hours to the small village of Phakding. It’s mostly downhill and you lose around 200 altitude meters. Halfway we had lunch and we reached Phakding around 14.00.

After a short rest, some tea and fixing the equipment, most of the members in the group made a short trek to the monastery situated high above Phakding. A beautiful and tranquil place where we were allowed to go inside and among other things have look at the 600 year old statue of the Lord Buddha.

Now we have just finished a lovely dinner at our lodge, Tashi Taki Lodge and I think it will be an early night for all.
