Marcie is alive and well! In fact, she devoured apple pie and popcorn for dinner. We are back in Namche Bazar, feeling like the big city compared to the tea houses higher up the trail. We were fortunate to spend yesterday evening with the “Dick Boss Crew” and Wongchu Sherpa in Deboche. Dick talked our ears off and convinced us to “ski him” at Snowbird next winter. He summited Everest in ’85 and is now 80yrs old…heading up to Base Camp for an Everest summiteers reunion. Wow! We said our goodlucks and hiked our sweaty, dusty selves down to Namche Bazar. It is still windy on the trail, coating us in a thick layer of dirt. We tried to herd some Yaks today, but they decided to stop and eat after a few hours instead. Showers in Namche were welcome but we remain in dirty clothes. Amazing how bad Stacee’s socks smell! Looking forward to Yak sizzlers and beers the last day in Lukla. Tomorrow we’ll continue down the trail….hoping for some rain to calm the dust.
