We actually did not hike anywhere today and did not gain any altitude. We
DID do laundry and both clothes and people are clean today. Our fellow
campers and hikers can truly appreciate this fact. Spent the majority of
day at the HRA clinic. Popy-Don strolled over looking pink and up to an
85% oxygen saturation this am. Yeah! Our day at the clinic was spent helping and not as patients. The kids set up a pulse oximeter check point
at the clinic entrance. They met trekkers from Israel, France and England
were successful in selling some readings to all. They met several locals
and Cayla finally sat on Nepalese horse! Several clinic patients came and
went and the kids were interested in hearing the cases and asking
questions. Dr. Noah organized band and they practices an original song
called “Take me home to Manang” sung to “Take me Home Country Road”
compliments to John Denver.
We enjoyed Greg leading the 3 pm lecture on altitude medicine. The lecture
had a good late season attendance with several familiar faces from our trek
up. The new band premiered at the end of the lecture and was a rousing
success. I think the band is planning a reprise tomorrow afternoon. Their
video premiere will be distributed when we return. |
