Testing the new Top Out oxygen delivery system

11 April, 2009

After my epic KP summit yesterday, we decided to take a much needed rest day. Pemba teased me that I summated KP without oxygen. After breakfast we tested the new Top out Mask that was donated to me by the HRA docs. Pemba, Kame and the docs did minor surgery to convert the connection from US to Poisk oxygen bottle system and it worked well after that. The docs are just as excited as I'm that it worked and Eric keeps telling me that I have very good Karma. Luckily for me the Top out Mask worked, because I tried the Piosk mask, which was supposed to be my main oxygen supply, and it did not work well at all. It simply didn't fit my face well and didn't work with my goggles, so it's now the backup system.

Oxygen, mask and climbing sherpas - all set for the summit!

I spend the rest of the morning visiting with Erik and the afternoon getting caught up on cybercast updates and a futile attempt to get internet connection.
