We are fortunate to share kitchen staff with the Himalayan Rescue Association (web site is everester.org ). They provide medical services for everyone here at base camp. For Chet this is an excellent opportunity for discussions with the four doctors currently here. In several weeks the HRA staff will droop back to two doctors. They are good neighbors for our stay here.
I continue to feel better each day. Chet is also feeling much better. Terri is holding her own and this evening and tomorrow this doctor team has treatment planned for her.
For our meals we get to order from a quite extensive menu, including beef from a half water buffalo hanging in the kitchen tent. Our cook Pemba Ngima and his helper Karma are doing a wonderful job.
Ice fall doctors are a team of eight Sherpa’s that are setting up the fixed line and ladders through the Khumbu ice fall. They have worked for about a week including today from 6 AM to 4 PM and are nearly up to camp one. They plan to finish tomorrow. |
