Dhaulagiri Base Camp Trek takes you to the remotest of the remotest in the beginning, as well as the middle. As you head out to them, you are deeper into the classic, raw, adventure world. The experience that the trekkers haven’t experienced in their lives and countries. The experience that can be experienced only in this part of the world. The Himalayan Ranges, and in the midst of the best and much adventure, you see the natural beauties. One of them is a walk in the middle of the rice field; this kind of walk happens only in Nepal.

Equally, the traditional villages look beautiful on the hillside. From a narrow trekking trail, you head out to them with your talkative guide and a fast-walking, helpful, friendly porter. But your tiring legs want to take a rest at the top of a steep cliff. Along with this needful desire, there are other people like cooks and helpers. And they are the ones who will set up tents, and if you examine their activity in one minute, you will tell Dhaulagiri is the one and only famous camping trek in western Nepal that is filled up with adventures from beginning to end. So, you are about to do the best adventurous trek in the whole world with our helpful team.

Since you are heading from one remote region to another, you will surely come across a base camp. If you are an Italian, you will love this base camp, even if you are not, the respect for the Italian climbers grows naturally. The first question arises in your mind how did they do it that time? Where these climbers had set up a base camp more than 30 years ago, you will find the view of Dhaulagiri above much beautiful snow-covered imagination as it was then.

Many times, Italian climbers ascended the summit of Everest. Just like the Italians, the French also did the same thing, and you start to respect their Dhaulagiri climb as you are completely engulfed by the Himalayan wonders. The French Pass offers you this unique opportunity. Actually, this is your walking achievement in one sense, and the pass was first crossed by the French. Besides this iconic pass, there is another pass that always stands out in the minds of the trekking agencies of Nepal, and its name is the Thapa Pass. This pass also scales 5000 m plus. Thapa is an ethnic group of people like the Sherpas, and both of them are champions of hospitality services.

Since you know the meaning of a trek very well, Dhaulagiri Base Camp Trek matches that meaning and also deserves the reputation and a platform to be shared with your friends, relatives, and near ones.

Best Season For Dhaulagiri Base Camp Trek

March, April, and May are the best months for trekking in Nepal. In these months, the flowers bloom, especially the mountain flowers, rhododendron. These flowers are the national flowers of Nepal. Looking at these blood-colored flowers, you start your trek in a lower level where the temperature is too perfect. As you reach a moderate level like 3000 m, the maximum temperature reaches 20 degrees Celcius. During this temperature, the sky is clear, and the stunning view of the mountain impresses you very much. On the other hand, August, September, October, and November are also the best months for trekking in Nepal. They are also the peak months. In October, the weather is excellent. There is plenty of sunshine, and there is also a blue sky overhead. Above all, there is the main festival of Hindu going on in all parts of Nepal.

How difficult is the Dhaulagiri Base Camp Trek ?

The trekking trail is too steep when you head down to the river. In some parts of the trail, you have to use the rope. This trail also takes you to the forest, where the roots are exposed. These roots might trip you in the forest. The trekking trail that lies ahead is too narrow, which takes you to the river. There is no bridge over this river, and you have to cross it with the help of our guide, porter, and cooks. Some parts of the trail consist of glaciers, some of the moraine, some are rivers, and some are altitudes that scale up to 5000 m plus. These altitudes are challenging even to the experienced trekkers.

Itinerary

    • Fly to Nepal on your favorite airlines. Outside the airport, we are waiting for you in private transportation. When we see you, we will attend to you immediately to take you to the hotel, but if you arrive before 6 PM, we will take you to our office.

    • You are on the Prithvi Highway, the oldest highway in Nepal. It takes you to the city of lakes, the second much popular tourist destination in Nepal. Before that, it shows you the scene of rural Nepal, especially those located between the hills. The river flows near the villages. Looking at them and experimenting with their activities (villagers) in your mind, you reach Beni which is also the ending point of the world’s famous Annapurna Base Camp Trek.

    • It’s all about walking uphill and downhill. The size matters to you. Is the trekking trail narrow or wide? You will enjoy the best of both sizes. A wide trekking trail takes you to the top of the hill. That is a plus point. Another plus point is you have to cross the river. That is where the fun of trekking lies. After experiencing this, a steep trekking trail takes you to Muri.

    • Today also, the trekking is exciting because you will be crossing the river, as well as you will be climbing a small snow-covered mountain. You don’t get this kind of opportunity in other treks of Nepal on the 3rd  day. Since you are climbing the mountain, you will see the famous mountain, Ghustung South (6465 m). As you are already on the side of the mountain, your trekking trail also follows the same route to Boghara.

    • Yesterday, you walked near the mountains, but today, you are walking downhill and eventually to the agricultural land. On the way, there is a rocky path, including a forest. The paths wind one after another. Since you are in the forest, there are no tea houses. Tonight, you will spend your first night in a tent in Doban.

    • Had you travaled here alone, you might have gotten lost? Because the trekking trail is not well-marked. Only our team knows everything about the trail. Expect the unexpected because there are logs on the river. You have to walk on these logs. There is a forest to walk in, and there is also a steep uphill to the base camp that the Italian climbers had set up during the Dhaulagiri Expedition.

    • Today, you have to prepare yourself mentally and physically to tackle the challenges of tomorrow’s trek. Because you are ascending to a higher altitude. And the best way to prepare is to explore the surrounding areas which are full of interest. One of them is the Dhaulagiri Ranges. Of course, there are other peaks also.

    • It is going to be a tough trek today; by the name, it is a glacier camp. Before you reach this camp, you will have to walk on glaciers. There are also moraines on the way. Both these moraines and glaciers are flowing downhill Dhaulagiri. Since you have to walk uphill on a slippery trekking trail, the use of the rope becomes necessary.

    • Today is the day because this is what you have wanted to do. You will be seeing all the famous mountains like the Dhaulagiri Ranges from the base camp. When you reach the base camp, you will see a lot of actions like the flow of glaciers and moraines, including icefall. To reach such a place is always challenging. And to get there, you have to walk tough uphill to see the stunning view.

    • Today, you will head to the French Pass and Thapa Pass. Before that, you have to walk on a glacier. You already know when you reach the pass of 5000 m plus, you will enjoy the sweeping view of the Dhaulagiri Region. You will also be in the Hidden Valley. The reason why it is called so is because it is surrounded by mountains ranging from 6000 m plus to 8000 m plus. From this valley, you head to the Thapa Pass, and following the downhill trekking trail, you arrive at the place to set up your camp.

    • The uphill trekking trail takes you to the Dhampus Pass. And the trail is challenging, as well as tough. From the top of the pass, you are going to enjoy a nice view of the mountains. It is always walking downhill from such a pass. Downhill is as hard as uphill, but in the end, you will be in an open space like Yak Kharkha. This is a great relief.

    • Kali Gandaki Gorge is the main highlight of today’s trek. To reach the gorge, you have to follow a downhill trekking trail. As you walk this trekking trail, you feel you are in the easiest part of the region. Soon, you will reach Marpha, the famous place where Nepal’s delicious apples are grown. An easy uphill hiking trail from Marpha takes you to Jomsom, the windiest place in Nepal.

    • We always catch a morning flight to Pokhara so that you can do the shopping and visit some of the interesting places. Our hotel is located near the lake. You have the option of boating on the lake. From the boat, enjoy the last view of Fishtail Mountain.

    • Again you are on the Prithvi Highway. See the river where the rafting is taking place. Also, see how the village people of Nepal travel by bus.

    • We know your flight schedule, and we will come to pick you up in advance because we want you to reach the airport on time.
