Celebrate Thanks Giving Day at Khumbu Lodge

Today the trekking team left the Mt. Kailash Lodge in Monjo ( on the way to Namche Bazar (3443 m). The team entered Sagarmatha National Park shortly after leaving Monjo, and celebrated with a team photo. The day was beautiful, with a clear blue sky and a nice breeze through the pine trees. The team knows that there will be no greenery higher on this trek, so they made the most of the shade and beauty that the trees offered by stopping for many photos along the way. As soon as the trekkers entered Sagarmatha National Park, they traveled in the shadow of Khumbila, the holiest mountain in Nepal. Nearly every bridge crossing the river brought another amazing view of Khumbila on one side and the Dudh Kosi Valley on the other.

	The trekking team was led by Peak Promotion guides who kept the team on a slow pace to avoid ascending to Namche Bazar too quickly and risking altitude sickness. Many an over-eager trekker has arrived in Namche only to fall ill with a severe headache. All of the Peak Promotion trekkers arrived in good spirits and good health.
	Once at the Khumbu Lodge in Namche Bazar, the trekkers met again with David Breashears and Lakpa Gelje, who were preparing to cook a fantastic dinner to celebrate the American holiday of Thanksgiving. The trekkers ate very heartily as they were very hungry after the climb up Namche hill earlier in the day.
	After dinner, Wongchu Sherpa and Mahadev Sharma, from Peak Promotion, went to sleep in the Tenzing Norgay room, which commemorates the first Sherpa to stand on the summit of Mount Everest.
