We had another day in Kathmandu. Sightseeing all important spots during.

First we went to the Monkey Temple,” Swayambhu Mahachaitya”. Among all the interesting things to see (including the monkeys), the monastery was a high light.

Then a visit of Patan Durbar Square followed. We also had a walk through the local community.

After this it was time to visit to Boudhanath, a world heritage site. This great stupa  is an outstanding building that everybody that come to Kathmandu has to visit. We walked it clockwise, as you have to do, while you touch the wholly cylinders. Then we had lunch at top roof restaurant.

Thangka Shop

The Thangka Center followed, a handcraft school for an art painting based on the Buddha pictures and philosophy was excellent presented, and all now have a painting purchased to bring home.

Finally we went to the place of Hindu ceremony of funerals, including the cremations at the river.

Now we are to prepare for tomorrow, when the trekking begins!
