Clear again this morning, which is a quite normal pattern. Both Terri and I had slept well and I actually felt better. Terri finished packing up her duffel bag for the porters before breakfast. We all had breakfast and prepared for Terri’s and Joanna’s departure. As with Terri’s two previous over here it is very hard to see her leave. Especially when I know it will be more than a month before I get back home. After many pictures and farewells they started their walk back to Lukla with their two porters and Sherpa guide.
I was able to eat some lunch today and then spent the rest of the day resting in my tent.
We also got word that a climbing Sherpa in EBC had died. The HRA doctors were called too late to revive the Sherpa. It was determined that the Sherpa was suffering from HACE (High Altitude Cerebral Edema – swelling of the brain).
