Dingboche, not as cold this morning as previous night but still cold. At breakfast Anna made the difficult decision to go down due to altitude sickness. She will be waiting for us in a town called Pherische which we will come back to after our two days up at Everests Base Camp.

The trek to day was rather flat though it involved a climb of total 700 meters. A nice transportation to something very exciting. After a short lunch at Thukla, half way to our destination Lobuche, we started a small climb up a 300 meter high hill. We can now see  the beginning of the Khumbu Glaciere, wich comes down from Everest.  All of us are in quite good condition but tired from yesterdays mountain climb. This day was welcome as a short and not to heavy day. Here over 5000 m we are beginning to get a little soft in our heads, but thats what you have to expect on this altitude.

So now we will go back into our sleeping bags and try to sleep at 5018m. Tomorrow we will hopefully have a closeer look at Everest, the higest mountain in the world.

Prayer flag AmaDablam from the above Thukla
