Our First Trekking Day. We were wake up at 4:15AM for Our 40 Minute Flight to Lukla. It was a real "Trip". Our plane was a turbo prop which flew through the clouds with spectacular views of the Himalayas. The stewardess served candy and cotton balls for our ears. The empty seats were piled with large bags of grain. The postage stamp sized runway is perched on the Side of a Mountain. It slants uphill which helps stopping the Plane on The short runway.

We hiked about 2hrs 45 minute to the village of Phakding. It was as if hiking through a Fairy tale. We passed colorful prayer flag draped stupas and in scripted mani stones. The steep slopes are terraced creating fields for wheat and potatoes. Peters carry huge hoads. A cross between a Cow and Yak, Called a Jopkyo amble by carrying trekking Gears, Grain, or wood.
