Soon reaching 5000 meters. (Lobuche at 4900 meters). The trek starts with a 300 meters climb over the Lobuche pass.  At the pass there is a memorial site for people that have died at Everest. It was very touching to walk along the memory stones and read about all the different people that have perished and how they are missed by family and friends. The sky was blue and as you see, the scenery is breathtaking.

Well t Lobuche we made a short hike up ridge was we got our first view of the Khumbu icefall. Due to climate change, the glacier is vanishing at X meters every year. However, don’t be fooled by the gravel and ruble covering the ice, the glacier is very thick.
